LANYARDS |

| This next tip was forwarded to me by a fella named MIKE GILLES. And when I first reviewed his tip I remember saying to myself, "Boy, that's a damn good idea!" And then a few months afterwards I saw an advertisement in some British military supply catalog about a coiled lanyard for pistols and it wasn't cheap either. They wanted $40.00 for the damn thing and they claimed you could "pull a car with it, use it to repel down the sides of buildings and once it's attached to your pistol and belt – no one will ever be able to take it away from you." Whatever, I just don't think it's worth $40. Why? Well not only because of the price but because I don't intend to pull a car with it nor repel down any buildings with it. And so what I did was buy me a package of some 25 foot coiled telephone cord, some electrical tape, wire and some mini snaplinks from my local Walmart store and here's how I made my own coiled lanyards based on Mike Gilles idea, check it out.

First cut the length you want, then attach the mini snaphooks to the ends, secure them with wire and then cover it with some tape.
I not only attached these homemade coiled lanyards to my pistol but also to my compass, flashlight. two way radio and my knife too.
